Peppermint Thumbprint Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
45-50 Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses unwrapped
1/4 cup cocoa powder
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking pans with parchment paper.
In a large bowl cream the butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in the egg yolks, vanilla, peppermint and almond extract. In a separate medium bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined fully.
Roll dough into 1" balls and make an imprint into the balls with your thumb or a small measure. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. As soon as the cookies come out of the oven top each cookie with a peppermint Hershey kiss. The chocolate will melt on the cookie while the cookies cool.
