Beef and Broccoli
Ingredients
500 ml broccoli florets and stalks
Marinade
100 ml olive oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
Oriental Sauce
20 ml brown sugar
2 tsp grated fresh ginger root
Directions
Cut beef on the diagonal into thin slices.
Combine marinade ingredients into an medium bowl. Then add the beef and let marinate for 10 minutes.
Break broccoli florets into even pieces and peel stalk and cut on the diagonal.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and sprinkle sesame seeds in a pan and toast in the oven for 10 minutes until lightly brown.
Heat sesame oil in a wok on medium/high heat and add beef quickly sautéing until brown on all sides.
Add broccoli to the beef and sauté until tender.
Oriental Sauce
Combine the soya sauce, brown sugar, honey, ginger and pepper in a saucepan.
Mix the cornstarch with cold water. Add to the saucepan and cook on medium until thickened.
Add oriental sauce to beef and broccoli and stir until coated.
